Since 1975 BMW has been working with renowned international artists to transform BMW models into works of art. Although this BMW M1 was designed by Frank Stella, this BMW M1 is not on the official BMW Art Car list, even though this BMW M1 has an outstanding history. It was designed by Frank Stella himself and commissioned by its owner, racing legend Peter Gregg, and built in memory of Ronnie Peterson. Ronnie Peterson took part in the 1976 24 Hours of Le Mans with Frank Stella's BMW 3.0 CSL Art Car. This unique Motorsport project stand for BMW Motorsport meets art.
